Test Matrix is a tool developed from scratch by Soflab Technology for supporting the test planning process, test scope optimisation, traceability, and advanced reporting based on the association of the objects.
The market is abundant in tools supporting the test process, but they are mainly focused on the test execution stage. The real challenge, however, lies in properly managing the test scope and accurately reporting progress in its execution.
The tool, developed by Soflab Technology, mainly provides support for test planning and designing. The Test Matrix improves and supports the execution, monitoring, and control processes, as well as the test closure phase. It is highly valued by both testers and the management (as it allows for detailed management information).

Management of the test scope, support of test planning, and designing
Test matrix allows one to:
import or define business processes of the organisation
define systems of the IT environment
implement the project requirements
define the essential elements of implementation, i.e. key functionalities, technical areas that can be used for grouping of the test range
division of scope of the implemented data in the most convenient way, which enables fast implementation of change requests (CRs)
Adopted algorithms allow linking of objects (like business processes, requirements, products, systems, and test cases) necessary for the carrying out of the process of tests in an easy way.
Moreover, they provide continuous traceability of the created links, and thus easy management of the tests scope in the case of changes.
Created links allow for analysis of data, obtained from executed tests, on many different levels.
Support for advanced reporting process is mainly based on:

Risk Based Testing
The solution proposed by Soflab Technology provides the opportunity to introduce the importance defining the technical complexity of implementation and business validity of a particular function.
Each element of tests scope, as well as an additional defined attribute, can be assigned to create dictionaries whereby the elements may also have specific RBT weights described.
With this approach, identification of a critical range of implementations becomes much more transparent and complete.
Data export to ALM tools
The tool is equipped with appropriate mechanisms which allow a simple and fast import of the test scope with all the artifacts and connections into ALM tools (e.g. HP QC, JIRA, SpiraTest).
Additionally, there is a possibility to export any test scope/subscope from the matrix into any document format, making it easy to review the drafted materials.
